Easter Egg Hunt (Little Kids)
When: Good Friday @ 11:00 am

Belmont kids of all ages gather together on Good Friday at Union St. Park for this event. The children are divided up into several different age groups and each group hunts for “eggs” (golf balls) in a different area of the park. The eggs that they find are exchanged for goodie bags of treats at the end of the hunt. Every child receives a candy bag regardless of how many balls they find.

At the end of the hunt the Easter Bunny makes an appearance to say hello to the children. The Easter Egg Hunt also includes a draw for Easter baskets full of great prizes which helps to cover the cost of running this free event. For those who would like a little more to eat than Easter candy there is also a BBQ at the end of the Hunt.

Summer Fun day (Everyone)

Summer Fun Day (SFD) is the brainchild of the committed and tireless HUB Kids Committee. The group’s vision is to create an event that brings families together and attracts visitors to Elgin County by way of Belmont. This town is a gateway to the larger County and the event is a unique way to exhibit our community spirit and promote local business and attractions. The first year (2008) was a success and every year since; the event has grown to include more local and County businesses, organizations, service clubs and participants of all ages.

Old favourites are returning as well such as the inflatable jumpees, kids’ carnival games and face painting for kids and the Elgin County information booth. The dunk tank, watermelon-eating contest and sports skills competition will entertain participants of all ages once again in 2011. The highly anticipated and fully licensed Summer Evening Garden Party will return for adults and will feature local wines and beers as well as showcase homegrown musical talent.
